Successful Interviewing

  • Preparation is essential. Learn everything you can about Koch companies, especially the company you are interviewing with. A good place to start is our corporate Web site, www.kochind.com. You can read about our companies and culture, and access recent news articles. This information will enable you to make a more informed career decision.
  • Gather your thoughts. You should be able to answer the following questions about yourself:
    • What do you want to do?
    • Where do you want to work?
    • What kind of working environment do you prefer?
    • What are your career goals?
  • Prepare questions for the interviewer. Learn about the people, projects and activities you will work with every day.

What to Expect

When we ask you to come visit us on site, you will meet at least one representative from the Human Resources department, as well as individuals from various Koch companies. These representatives are generally hiring managers or team members of the company for which you are being considered.
Each meeting will last approximately 45 minutes. You should be prepared to answer general background questions, and specific inquiries about projects or situations you have encountered during previous employment. Try to provide as much detail as possible in your responses (e.g., I worked on this project with these individuals, encountered this problem, solved it this way and then received this kind of feedback).

Following the Interview

The next step is for our representatives to meet and determine the results of your interview. Typically, you will receive communication from us within two weeks.
